Welcome to the website of the Safer Roads Partnership in West Mercia.

The Partnership was launched on April 1st 2007 with the sole aim of reducing road casualties across the region, by building on the successful work previously done by the Safety Camera Partnership in West Mercia.

The Partnership has been created by a range of public sector agencies including highway authorities, the Police, the Courts and NHS Primary Care Trusts in order to deliver highly visible targeted speed and red traffic light enforcement at places where the risks are greatest, and to co-ordinate, support and develop broader road safety activity.

Although the operation of safety camera sites across West Mercia will remain an important part of the Partnership’s work, longer-term the Partnership will be aiming to work even more closely with its members to look at wider road safety issues. This will include building stronger links with local council road safety teams to tackle the major safety priorities across the region by working together on a variety of projects and campaigns.

The Partnership will continue to operate the camera sites that are already in place across the region, (which can be found by logging on to the Safety Camera Partnership website at www.speedaware.org.uk), while guidelines for the location and use of safety cameras can be found by clicking on the ‘Partnership’ page of this site.

If you have any enquiries regarding the work of the Partnership please feel free to get in touch by using the ‘Contact Us’ page on this website, while the ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ section has been added to answer queries regarding a wide variety of matters, including what to do if you receive a ticket.
